Nintendo Weekly News October 16th-20th

Today’s weekly news update is brought to you by upcoming news and a little piece of news that is sure to surprise.

Shiny Silvally Event
Starting October 23rd, Pokémon Sun and Moon fans can obtain Shiny Silvally.

This Silvally has a shiny look to it and it is also a recolor of an ordinary Silvally. Like an ordinary Silvally, it has the RKS System ability. The RKS System Ability allows Silvally to change its type depending on which memory disk it is holding.

You can obtain Shiny Silvally from October 23rd to November 13th via a code you can obtain from your local Gamestop.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Ultra Challenge Pack Release
On October 17th, the Ultra Challenge Pack was released for Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle

The Ultra Challenge Pack includes the following:

  • Eight Ultra Hard Challenges in each world’s Secret chapter
  • A new co-op campaign mode with 5 maps that have lots of enemies to fight including Chain Chomps and Boos
The pack is available for $6.99 on the Nintendo eShop. I highly recommend this pack because it adds an addition level of challenge for an already challenging game.

Nintendo Switch Update 4.0.0
On October 19th, a new update landed for the Switch and it includes lots of new content to enjoy.

  • To start off, the ability to transfer user and save data from Switch to Switch is now available, which is a feature many Switch owners have wanted for a while
  • New profile icons have been added in and they include characters from Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • A pre-purchase option is now available for certain games on the Nintendo eShop. This feature lets you pre-load the game so on launch day you can immediately start playing the game.
  • Most importantly, the feature to create a video clip of your gameplay is now available. This feature allows you to create a 30-second video of your gameplay to share with others players via social media. You can only use this feature in the games: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2.
  • Last, but certainly not least, additional adjustments have been added to enhance the user experience
Mewtwo and other Legendary in Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon
This is a rather a small piece of news, but worthwhile to report on.

Following several leaks, it has been confirmed that Mewtwo and other Legendary Pokémon will be available to capture in Pokémon Sun/Moon. They can be obtained when you go through different Ultra Wormholes found throughout the game.

In other non-Nintendo console related news, I found this piece of news to be very interesting and cool, so here it is.

It has been reported that a live action movie of Detective Pikachu will be in production soon!

Source: Serebii
The movie will be based on the game released in Japan on February 2016 named Detective Pikachu ~Birth of a New Duo~.  Production of the movie will begin on January 2018 in London. The movie will be produced by Legendary Pictures and directed by Rob Letterman. More info will be provided to you when it comes out.

Well, that’s all for this week, so I’ll “see” you next week!
