Today’s weekly news update is brought to you by awards won
by Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Mega Man 11 Announcement
During this week we had lots of game announcements, but one
of the first was the announcement of Mega
Man 11.
Mega Man 11 is the
latest of the Mega Man series. The game now features 3D models and environments,
which is different from the pixel based games of the Mega Man past. Not much
else is known for the game, but a trailer can be found here.
The game will release late 2018 and will be available on the
Switch.
Also, all 8 Mega Man X games and the Mega Man Legacy
Collection 1 and 2 will arrive on the Switch soon.
Zelda for the Win!
(And others)
This week was the Game Awards ceremony and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
won the Game of the Year award!
Along with that award, the game also won Best Game Direction
and Best Action/Adventure Game awards.
Also, some other game awards for other Nintendo games
include:
- Best Handhold Game went to Metroid: Samus Returns
- Best Family Game went to Super Mario Odyssey
- Best Strategy Game went to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Bayonetta 1 and 2
Launching on the Switch
Following the Game Awards, Nintendo announced the release of
Bayonetta 2 on February 16, 2018. It
is set to launch on the Switch.
The game was critically acclaimed and was a Wii U exclusive
title. However, due to the Wii U’s rather unsuccessful life, bringing it to the
Switch will definitely bring attention to the game. The game will retail for
$59.99, and if you buy the game, you will get a code for the original Bayonetta game.
Bayonetta 3 Announcement
By the way, Bayonetta
3 is in development. Not excited. Well, here is the trailer.
How about now? The game is only in development at this point, so a release date
will be announced later.
Rabbids Versus
Mode
In the latest update for Mario
+ Rabbids Battle Kingdom, a new mode has been introduced.
Versus Mode is the latest mode released for the game. Versus
Mode pits you and a friend together to see who the better Rabbid is. You and
your opponent each pick a team of 3 characters and you use those characters to
battle on brand new maps. One of the major differences in this mode is that
instead of using all actions for each character, you either must only move all
your characters or 1 character gets to attack and move while the rest sit
tight. Versus Mode is a test of strategic skill.
The update launched December 8th and is free to
download.

Pokémon Ultra
Moon/Sun Update
On December 8th, Game Freak announced they would
release a patch for the Ultra Sun/Moon
games.
The patch would include some fixes on issues that have been
plaguing the game. The issues include:
- When you chose Litten as your starter, the game may freeze
- Wide Guard protects again all Z-Moves
- The move Ion Deluge does not work at all
- Pokémon that know less than 4 moves will have their first move deleted when being taught a move by the Move Tutor
The update is expected to launch later this month.
For the interesting tidbit of this week, here is an awesome
