Nintendo Weekly Fan News May 7th-11th


Today’s weekly update is brought to you by details upon details of upcoming services and games. 

Switch Online Service Details
New details have surfaced about the Online Service, which is a new and foreign service for Nintendo. So let’s dive right in. 

First of all, there are individual memberships and the price point is as follows:

  • One month: $3.99

  • Three months: $7.99

  • 12 months: $19.99

  • For a Family membership (12 months): $34.99

A family membership is a membership that includes up to eight Nintendo Account holders and these holders will be able to use the Nintendo Switch Online service, even on different systems.

The Nintendo Entertainment System, which is lets subscribers will have access to an array of classic NES games. The collection will initially include 20 games, with more added on a regular basis. At launch, Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros. 3 will be joined by Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Soccer, Super Mario Bros. and Tennis. Another 10 games will be announced in the future.

Another feature is the Save Data Cloud Backup. This allows a backup of Nintendo Switch save data to be saved online for easy access for other consoles, if need be. This can help retrieve any save data if you lose, break or purchase an additional Nintendo Switch system.

The Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required to play in co-op and competitive online features for current and upcoming Switch games.

Also coming out the same date will be the Nintendo Switch Online App. The Nintendo Switch Online app will be used to enhance the online experience for compatible games through voice chat and other features.

New Switch Accessory
On Wednesday, a brand new accessory was announced for the Nintendo Switch. 

The brand new accessory is a new adjustable charging stand that allows you to play Tabletop mode longer. The AC adaptor is on the side, so it makes it easier to charge. The adjustable stand lets you adjust the stand at an angle that is comfortable for you to see. Tabletop mode is intended for players to play the Switch without a TV, but still have a sense of playing on a TV. Now with this new accessory, it makes the mode more enjoyable than ever. 

The stand come out June 13th and will retail for $19.99.

ARMS Demo
On Thursday, April 10th, a demo for Arms came out. 

Unlike previous demos, this one can be played offline. The demo lets you play solo or with a friend. You can choose to play as Master Mummy, Ninjara, Ribbon Girl, Spring Man, or Twintelle. The demo also lets you look at the Badges, Dashboard and Gallery areas. The game is definitely worth a try, so if you’re undecided, definitely try the demo.
