Today’s weekly round-up of news is brought to you by new
game releases and re-releases!
Metroid T-Shirts
Following the recent release of Metroid Samus Returns, Nintendo has released some new Metroid
themed t-shirts for fans to purchase.
The t-shirts come in green
or black,
each at a price point of $24.99. There are available now and it seems as though
they may have limited quantities in certain sizes.
SteamWorld Dig 2 Release
On September 21st, SteamWorld Dig 2 released on the Switch, with others platforms to
follow in the future. This game is a single player adventure game by Image
& Form. It is the fourth installment in the series and it has received
great reviews from across critics. The game is about a steam-powered robot
named Dorothy mining through various levels to defeat enemies and find treasure
along the way. The game retails at a price of $19.99 and is available on the
Nintendo eShop.
Thimbleweed Park Release
Thimbleweed Park
was initially released on March 30th, 2017 for other platformers,
however on September 21st, Thimbleweed Park released on the eShop for the
Switch. The plot involves you trying to solve ridiculous mysteries to
ultimately find out what 5 not so ordinary citizens all have in common. The game
retails for $19.99 and it is worth noting the game is rated T for teens.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Release
After much wait, on September 22nd Dragon Ball
Xenoverse 2 launched for the Switch. Some new features were added exclusively
for the Switch. One feature includes the ability to have 6 players battle each
other over local wireless. In the game, you must fight with or against some of
Dragon Ball’s most powerful fighters in order to discover who is tampering with
the Dragon Ball timeline. You can even create your own avatar to battle with. The
game has a retail price of $49.99.
Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game
Release
On September 22nd, the Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game released for the Switch. You can play
as Lloyd, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, Nya or even Master Wu to defend Ninjago from
Garmadon. The game features the same plot as the movie, with some minor details
being slightly different. The game
retails for $59.99.
Pokémon Game
Releases
Pokkén Tournament
DX Release
Pokkén
Tournament DX finally released on the Switch on September 22nd,
and fans are ecstatic over the new characters. The new characters include:
Croagunk, Scizor, Empoleon, Darkrai, and Decidueye. The Pokémon from the
previous Pokken on the Wii U also
make a return in the game. You can now take Pokken on the go and you can battle
with a friend on 1 console using one of the 2 Joy-Cons. Many fans are excited for
this game because they are pleased to have the game portable and on a console
that outperformed the Wii U. The game retails for $59.99.

Pokémon Gold and Silver were re-released for the 3DS on September
22nd. The games are mostly unchanged and kept the same, with the
exception of being able to battle and trade with friends via local wireless.
The games are critically acclaimed for being the 2 best Pokémon games of the
series and having them on the 3DS is a great way to relive that feeling from
long ago. The games are at a retail price of $9.99 each.
However, that is not all. If you buy one of the games, you
can get a special code to get the legendary Pokémon Celebi into Pokémon
Sun/Moon or even Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. You can get Celebi until
September 21st, 2018. Also, if you purchase one of the games by
January 18, 2018, you can get a special Home Menu theme. The Home Menu theme
will be inspired by the version you bought.
