SNES Classic Release
We took a trip back to the 90’s when the SNES Classic released on September 29th. The SNES Classic comes with 21 games pre-installed on it and some of the games included are Kirby: Super Star, Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, Donkey Kong Country, and the never before released Star Fox 2. Two wired Super NES Classic controllers, one HDMI cable, one USB cable with AC adapter, and an instruction manual are included with the system. The console was a huge hit at stores, with the Nintendo Store having a massive line outside their doors with people having camped outside for hours. Despite this, most of the people in line where able to obtain the console and reports from others stores show that most people were able to obtain the console on launch day. It is sold out in most places now, however Nintendo has stated it will ship more consoles throughout this and next year. The retail price from the console is $79.99.

Wii Shop Closure
On the topic of nostalgia, who here still uses the Wii Shop for the Wii? Well, if you still use it, Nintendo has decided to shut it down starting on January 30, 2019. The shutdown will be gradual, with the ability to add Wii Points closing on March 26, 2018. The company recommends you spend your points and transfer any data you have to the Wii U while you still can. The Shop originally opened on December of 2006, so it had a good run.

Also, to help you cope with the loss of the Wii Shop, here is a link to 10 Hours of the Wii Shop music.

Well, that’s all for this week in news, so I hope to “see” you next week!
